Frequently Asked Questions

The Bible records that for decades after the resurrection of Yeshua (Jesus) the disciples and Apostles all kept and honored God’s Holy Sabbath Day. They went to the Synagogues every Sabbath whenever they traveled. However, it is recorded that they also met together in homes throughout the week, sharing with each other, teaching, praising God, etc. The Bible never records the “True Day of Worship” being changed. In fact God instructed that we never change HIS commandments or Torah.
The Sabbath is a Mikraw Chodesh in Hebrew and means a “Holy Assembly”. God sanctified and set apart the 7th day of the week for worship and called that day HOLY. Upon studying the Torah commandments for this day it was for a “Public” gathering of believers. So we gather on Saturday to honor His command.
Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32
Oneg: “delight of the Sabbath”; a social gathering held to celebrate and enjoy the sabbath. We celebrate by having a potluck meal after every Saturday service.
Often, people assume that anything on a menu is food. But the Bible actually defines what "Should be on our menu's". God defines that as believers following His loving instructions.... we should only eat clean animals along with fruit and vegetables.
WHY? Because God is looking out for us. Today's science has proven the Wisdom of God as unclean animals cause all sorts of diseases that can debilitate our lives and in some circumstances they can kill us.
Eating Biblically defined food is simply following the Instructions of a loving God.
Leviticus 11; Deuteronomy 14
The tzitzits come from Numbers 15:38-39 where God instructed the children of Israel to wear fringes on the 4 corners of their garments. Those fringes / tzitzit were to have a strand of blue in them. In this passage, God tells us it is so we will remember to keep His covenant, His commands or instructions. It is one of the small parts of setting ourselves apart as holy unto the LORD as He requested we do.
Numbers 15:38-39

The Feasts of God (not the Feasts of the Jews) were given to all 12 tribes AND.... all the gentiles that came out of Egypt with Israel when they were freed from slavery. They are actually called Moedim / Appointed times of God. They outline the harvest cycle and signify God's provision and blessings for His children. They also have prophetic shadow pictures embedded in them that are powerful tools for us to prepare for Messiah's return.
Today in exile (outside of our homeland) we celebrate the feasts to honor God at HIS appointed times as we rejoice in what He has done in the past and we look forward in anticipation to what He will do in the near future upon the return of Yeshua Messiah to establish His Kingdom on earth.

*Purim and Hanukah are NOT commanded Feasts of Yehovah. We choose to celebrate them for several reasons but do not teach you must observe them.
-
We know from Scripture that Yeshua attended the Feast of Hanukah so if it was good enough for Him it is good enough for us. Hanukah is also a great celebration of Yehovah’s mighty hand delivering his people from Greek sun god worship and we choose to celebrate this great event in Israel’s history.
-
Purim is celebrating another great day in Israel’s history which is recorded in the Bible in the book of Esther. We choose to celebrate this great Biblical event and enjoy a day rejoicing in Yehovah and praying for our brothers and sisters in Israel and around the globe.
-
We believe that there will be future significance in these dates in prophecy.
-
There is nothing wrong with celebrating Holidays that were not given by Yehovah as long as we don’t teach it as Law and it is not pagan in origin.
-
We schedule our observance of the Moedim on what we understand as the most accurate historical data. However, we know we can not be 100% certain. We honor others who have different opinions and refrain from arguing over the calendar. We hope all will will share in the same heart and attitude of love.
For more information on this or any Biblical calendar we will answer questions in person on two conditions.
1) You are asking out of genuineness of heart and not from an argumentative spirit.
2) You are regular attender at House of Scripture or contemplating attending on a regular basis.
***We Celebrate the Feast Days from sundown to sundown which is the true definition of a day in the time of Yeshua and as declared by the Almighty in the Torah.
